Mandy had a full Spa Massage at Tortworth as part of her Valentines Day pressie. She is on MTX and they used all the oils etc during the therapy with no after effects. She also drinks grapefruit juice on weekends.

Grapefruit is a definite "no-no" whilst on methotrexate. It's the effects of such that go unseen that are the worrying issue and the consequences may not show up for sometime afterwards. Perhaps Mandy could consider an alternative fruit?
My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

I can't profess to know much about aromatherapy oils but one essential oil I know MUST be avoided by expectant mothers or women planning to conceive is Lavender. Please, avoid it like the plague. Don't use it it oil burners, baths, pot pourri, perfume - anything. It's highly potent, enough to cause a miscarriage and was probably the cause of my work colleague's stillbirth after her midwife told her to use it during her pregnancy.

Awful! I have a medical herbalist and even though I have done tons of research into various natural remedies etc I would never tamper with pregnancy! I have had a recent fright with peppermint oil too which I need to ask the herbalist about as I was sipping the drops in water to ease nausea and then decided to read up on it on the internet and in pregnancy it can go either way!! I was stunned!
